This week we’re looking at Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve. This was released in the Britpop era and heavily features the use of strings in the track. This was sampled from a Rolling Stones track and it was only recently that The Verve actually started receiving any money from the track. On guitar, we’re going to play through 4 chords which loop continually throughout the whole song. The key to this track is the strumming pattern which we also go into detail with.
